Our Key Industries
and Clients

Our monitoring systems and services
are used across wide areas of the energy and natural resources sectors.

We support both private and public clients in the development, ustilization and evaluation of subsurface resources.

Geothermische Industrie

01

Deep Geothermal Energy

Q-con's roots lie in deep geothermal energy for electricity and heat generation. We are represented in this sector with our full range of services and can draw on decades of international project experience .

02

Oil & Gas

In addition to geothermal energy, the oil and gas sector has become another important application area for our services. Our work in this field focuses primarily on seismic monitoring and risk assessments related to fracking operations and operational oil and gas fields.

03

Mining

In underground mining, seismic events – both induced and natural – pose an immediate and significant safety risk. Interventions in the natural stress field, such as the driving of new tunnels, can trigger fractures in the surrounding rock mass, which must be carefully monitored.

Our monitoring systems and services provide the critical decision-making information needed to quickly identify any instabilities and to initiate appropriate safety measures.

04

Subsurface
Energy and COâ‚‚ storage

The underground storage of natural gas in salt caverns or porous reservoir rocks has played a central role in the energy security of many countries for decades. Increasingly, new concepts such as heat storage and COâ‚‚ storage are also coming into focus – technologies with significant potential for a climate-neutral energy future.

Since underground storage projects raise nearly identical technical and scientific questions to deep geothermal energy, we can support these projects in all phases with our full range of services - from planning to operational monitoring.

Financial Sector and Regulatory Authorities

In addition to companies in the natural resources and energy sectors, we also advise investors, insurance companies, development banks and government ministries on the assessment of the potential and the risks of individual projects or entire technologies.

Our Clients

Our client list in the field of subsurface energy technologies ranges from small regional companies to international corporations across Europe, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Japan.

In addition, our clients include development banks, investors, insurance companies, ministries and authorities.

What our Clients say:

Dr. Thomas Bartels
-

Wintershall Dea Deutschland GmbH

"Working with

Q-con is highly professional; both in terms of quality and timelines, all our project assignments were completed to our 100% satisfaction."

Dr. Horst Kreuter
- CEO -
Vulcan Energie Ressourcen GmbH

"For our geothermal projects

In the Upper Rhine Graben, induced seismicity also poses an economic risk.

Q-con's studies help us to minimize this risk already during the project planning stage."

Nikolaos Tzoulakis
- CEO -
Geox-Innovation GmbH

"We had a problem with a geothermal well and had to shut down the production facility."

Q-con reconstructed the cause from a complex data set and used their models to precisely determine the depth of a leakage. This enabled us to fix the problem and restart the plant."

Prof. Dr. Eva Schill
-
Karlsruhe Institute of Technology
"Through the project-specific modelling and comprehensive consulting, all questions regarding seismic risk in our HT-ATES project were answered to our fullest satisfaction."
Andreas Klotzki
- CEO -
UEV Umwelt, Entsorgung und Verwertung GmbH
"Excellent professional assessment in the complex subject area of underground waste disposal."
