About us

Q-con Gmbh was founded in 2000 as a spin-off of two major international research projects. The business idea was to bundle the scientific and technical knowledge and provide this expertise as part of a service and consultancy company. Initially, our projects focused on the measurement, interpretation, and numerical modeling of thermo-hydraulic-mechanical processes in deep geothermal reservoirs. After a few years, we gradually expanded our portfolio to neighboring technologies, such as mining, hydrocarbon extraction, underground storage, CO2 - sequestration, and thermal energy storage. For these technologies, we offer a complete service package for managing the risks associated with induced seismicity.

 

Since our founding days, the state of knowledge on induced seismicity has significantly improved. Our team is proud to have contributed to this positive development. Together with our clients, we have repeatedly published the results of our research in leading international scientific journals. Moreover, our experts have contributed to the development of national guidelines for the risk management of induced seismicity in several countries. We are highly motivated to continue this success story and look forward to future challenges! Today, Q-con’s multi-disciplinary team consists of geophysicists, seismologists, geologists, and rock physicists.
